Happy New Year! January 2009 -

6/1/2009

Happy New Year my foxy friends!

I hope you all had a spiffing Christmas and a splendiferous New Year!  I have been super busy over the festive season, but of course I have managed to squeeze a few celeb parties into my schedule.  Girls Aloud certainly know how to throw a good party, I was dancing and shaking my brush into the wee hours!

Over Christmas I was of course performing in Aladdin the pantomime at the Ipswich Regent.  Plenty of bling bling in that show I assure you.  The show was a huge success and you would think that Basil would now be wanting to put his feet up wouldn't you... but no, my schedule is more hectic than ever with the new series of Swap Shop starting this Saturday  10th January!   Make sure you tune in to watch my brand new series at 10am on CBBC.

Basil's High Skool Mania Spring Tour has also been confirmed, so if you missed it last time there's no need to fret!  After receiving accolades and rave reviews I am bringing leg 2 of High Skool Mania to select theatre venues and ButIins across the UK.  You can find out more in the 'Live Events' section of my website.

Until next time...

Half Term Diary -

29/5/2008

Hello fox fans,

I hope that you are all having a good Half-Term break!

I’ve been having a splendiferous time at Pleasure Island in Cleethorpes! There is always something to here to keep me occupied when I’m not the hostest with the mostest hosting the Basil Brush Laughter Show with Greg my new best buddy!. I’ve been trying for days to get onto the new obliterator ride, but apparently they have something called a height restriction!

It’s a good thing I packed my Wellingtons though! It has been a bit wet… hey, here’s one.  What happens when it rains cats and dogs?  You have to be careful not to step on a poodle! Ha Ha Ha! Boom Boom!

Don’t forget I’ll be touring seaside resorts over the Summer holidays.. so check out the news page for details!

And keep an eye out for my brand new Bumper Activity Book in stores in June!

Until next time

Basil

What lies in a pram and wobbles?

A Jelly Baby!

Ha Ha Ha! Boom Boom!!

Until next time,

Three Weeks in! -

24/1/2008

Good day to you Swappits!

We are three weeks in to the best thing that has hit your television screens since The Basil Brush Show!  'Basil's Swap Shop', featuring me, me, me and all you lot, the swappers.  It's been causing a media frenzy! I've given so many interviews over the past month that I've had to start recycling some of my jokes, one journalist even said to me 'what do you mean you've HAD to, I thought that is what you have been doing for the past 30 years?' The cheeky blighter!

A media frenzy is not the only thing that has been sweeping the nation.  I heard on the grapevine that my hilariously funny and ever so slightly annoying 'What Nothing' has become THE most popular past time for you lot to annoy your parents with, way to go Brush fans, I am so proud of you.

I hope you've all been keeping a close eye on the swaps on offer, last week we even had a snooker table up for grabs, the TV crew and I really wanted to keep it, it made such a great bed for quick bit of shut eye between takes! titter.  This weeks swaps are just as splendiferous and a big round of applause tot he swapper who is after a Blue Peter Annual, what great taste!  If you have Bratz Annual to swap for it or even something else you would like to swap, log on to ww.bbc.co.uk/cbbc/basilsswapshop/ now.

Before I go I also wanted to remind you all that your jellyvision screen isn't the only place to catch me.  From Sunday February 3rd I am up and down the countryside in the final leg of my nationwide theatre tour, ‘Basil of the Caribbean’.  It's hard work being such a fox in demand but I love every second of it.  So click on the link on my page and check out where you can catch me.

See you all there folks,

Basil xx

Swap Shop Gossip! -

7/1/2008

Hello Swappits!

The final curtain fell last night on the Alban Arena stage where I’ve been starring in Cinderella, to make way for the glory that is Saturday mornings, Basil’s Swap Shop!  But I must just say what a splendiferous time I had working with the ugly sisters this Christmas, they’re even uglier close up than they are on the stage! Boom boom!  The Panto ponies and I became great friends too, we had lots in common, we’re all of a similar height. I got on so well with them in fact that they even left me a little present, well it was rather big actually, and smelly, it’ll be great for my roses. Ha ha! Boom Boom! Phewie!

Is Saturday mornings now worth getting up for or what?! After the first live show’s transmission ended, we celebrated in style with a party in the gunge tank!  Thankfully it was empty, I don’t like the idea of all that green gunge sticking in my brush, mind you, I did find out that apparently you can eat it but after all those kids smelly feet going in I don’t think I’ll be serving much of that up for my next Sunday roast!

We had a good ol’ jamming session with Joe Pasquale before we hit the screens live, although I didn’t join in, I just had some jam on toast, ha ha Boom Boom!  I actually don’t think there is anyone else who can sing as high as Joe Pasquale, he told me it’s so high that only animals and children can hear him, which explains why the crew were all talking amongst themselves whilst the gorillas and I were rolling around the floor in pain!

If you want to get you paws on a High School Musical CD or some super cool action figures, log on to http://www.bbc.co.uk/cbbc/basilsswapshop/ and get in touch fox fans!

See you on Saturday!

Basil xx
